U.S. Air Cargo Advance Screening Data Requirements Effective Nov. 12

Effective November 12: New mandatory data elements for air freight shipments destined or transiting through the United States

To enhance security, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has issued new and enhanced Air Cargo Advance Screening (ACAS) data elements impacting all air freight shipments transiting/destined to the United States. As a result, effective November 12 at 12:00pm EST, shipments with vague commodity descriptions will be rejected. Air Canada is collaborating with regulatory and trade partners to ensure mandatory compliance for cargo destined or transiting through the United States.

To ensure your shipments move as booked, all mandatory data elements required for both the Master Air Waybills and House Air Waybills, need to be complete and accurate for each shipment at the time of tender. See below for full details.

With the U.S. Air Cargo Advance Screening data requirements taking effect on November 12, air freight operations will face stricter data submission protocols. This measure aims to enhance security but may also necessitate adjustments in documentation processes for efficient compliance.
